電融アルミナは、高純度アルミナ（Al₂O₃）を電気アーク炉で溶融・再結晶化させることで製造される合成材料で、工業用研磨材および耐火材として広く利用されています。その極めて高い硬度（モース硬度9.0～9.2）、高い融点、そして化学的不活性性により、多くの産業で欠かせない存在となっています。
